Thank you for considering the International Journal of Clinical Audit (IJCA) for your manuscript.

The IJCA Author Center provides an array of informational resources to help guide you through the manuscript submission, review, and publication process.

WHY IJCA?

Clinical audit is an essential for ensuring the highest quality of patient care. Academics, clinicians, healthcare managers and policy makers from every field of healthcare need to engage in the design, implementation and analysing of clinical audit processes. We believe sharing your experience of Clinical Audit and Quality Improvement design and findings, whether positive impact or negative, will help your colleagues achieve better care for their patients. IJCA is a platform to share and learn from the experiences of academics, clinicians, healthcare managers and policy makers from all over the globe.

WHAT WE ACCEPT FOR SUBMISSION

1st Cycle Audit

 We accept 1st cycle / single loop audits with a learning point to share with the wider scientific and clinical community. 

Full cycle audit

We accept full cycle/ loop audits with points to share with the wider scientific and clinical community.

Quality Improvement 

We accept submissions for quality improvement projects where standard guideline have not been developed yet.

Letters

We accept letters and comments on all published articles within this journal.

Author Centre: List

The journal attempts to handle the review process and publication as expeditiously as possible. The review process is usually completed within 4 weeks, but can take longer in some instances.

The IJCA has made the submission process easy to follow. Authors need to upload only 1 Microsoft Word document.

The document must be structured and named according to the instructions below. This will minimise delays in processing your submission.

TITLE PAGE

This should have the title, list of authors, credentials, affiliations and institutions, corresponding author contact details, the name of leading consultant, Conflict of interest and financial disclosures statement, and final word count excluding references.

AUTHOR DECLARATION FORM PAGE

The second page must be the fully completed and signed 'Authors declaration form'. The form has to be signed by all named authors. This form can be downloaded below. Once the form is completed, scan it and paste it onto your word document as the 2nd page of the document.

EVIDENCE OF LOCAL AUDIT DEPARTMENT APPROVAL PAGE

This should be obtained from your Audit Department. The authorisation form/ email must match your audit title, be dated, signed and referenced by your local Audit Department Officer. Once the form / email is completed, scan/ paste it onto your word document as the 3rd page of the document. 

ABSTRACT PAGE

This should include the structured abstract for your project, with a maximum word count of 300 words. The abstract must follow these subheadings: aim, methods, results, discussion, conclusion and recommendation.

MAIN BODY OF THE MANUSCRIPT PAGE

This should include the following subheadings:
Introduction

Methods

Results

Discussion

Conclusion and Recommendation

REFERENCES PAGE

Please use the Vancouver style which consists of:
·       Citations to someone else's work in the text, indicated by the use of a number.
·       A sequentially numbered reference list at the end of the document providing full details of the corresponding in-text reference.
